Chamisa to unleash a fresh wave of demonstrations

MDC leader Nelson Chamisa told the journalists on Wednesday that his party will continue calling for genuine dialogue organised by a credible and Independent Convenor but if it fails, they will resort to demonstrations.

"We have always called for dialogue and if it fails, we will resort to constitutional means which gives us the constitutional right to demonstrate and petition."

Chamisa' statement comes at a time when pressure group Tajamuka has promised to mobilise another wave of protests  that will rock the Mnangagwa the Mnangagwa government.

Chamisa who was giving an update on the State of preparedness for the Congress, which shall be held under the theme Defining a new course for Zimbabwe, took the platform to comment on socio-economic and political developments in the country.

He called on government to pay tobacco farmers in foreign currency since the county is selling tobacco in the selling foreign currency.




Commenting on the livelihoods of War veterans the 41-year-old leader said they have been used by ZANU PF and dumped and are now living in poverty. He emphasised  that there is  a need to for the ex-combatants to be afforded a decent life.

On the water crisis in Harare Chamisa said the central government was interfering in the affairs of the City and hence the crisis in service delivery.

Chamisa ended the presser by saying the MDC is united and what is happening is a democratic process although ZANU PF wants to take the opportunity to influence divisions with MDC.
