On Friday the 6th of July 2018, children at Samahuru Primary School in Tsholotsho Rural District received some new shoes from a local organisation Shoes2School Zimbabwe.

This came after the headmaster of neighbouring Samahuru Adventist High School; Mr. Muziwandile Dube had visited the primary school. It was extremely cold as it has been this winter season in Zimbabwe. It was when he noticed a number of children in the school without shoes.

Mr. Dube then went back to his school and thought of approaching Shoes Zimbabwe to see if they could help. "I was putting on my shoes and yet my feet were still feeling extremely cold. As such I could not fathom what those children were going through. It was then that I decided to act, and I am happy that Shoes2School Zimbabwe was able to come to these children's rescue. Personally, I wouldn't wish any child to go through that, more so they have to walk long distances coming to school barefoot", remarked Mr. Dube.

After Mr. Dube had approached the organisation, they agreed to assist the children with new shoes. The Shoes2School Zimbabwe pair of Mr. Keith Moyo and Mr. Dalubuhle Tshuma then drove to Samahuru where they handed over the new shoes in a short event witnessed by parents and staff of the school. Speaking after the handover Mr. Moyo said, "We are pleased to plough back to the community.  Seeing the plight of the children, we decided to source shoes and hand them over to disadvantaged students". He also gave a chronicle of how in June 2016 they managed to successfully carry out their first project. They went to Mdengelele Primary School in Nkayi Rural District where 104 children received shoes. In November of the same year they donated shoes and Mathematical sets after partnering with another NGO, Act of Kindness.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Dube thanked Shoes2School Zimbabwe for thinking about the children in this cold weather and urged all Zimbabweans to strive to assist a child in need of help in any part of the country. "People should always look after the well being of every child, that way we would have very few children getting abused or going without the basic necessities in life", he remarked. In him, both Samahuru Adventist Primary and Secondary Schools have benefited tremendously through his presence, as he is a dedicated young leader who is deeply passionate about promoting and enhancing every child's right to an education. That community has grown immensely from his presence, as he is committed to its development and progress.
