Sunday Night 21st February 2016 saw Phil Noble a 39 year old Zimbabwe simultaneously appearing in two British ITV shows Vera & Beowulf, which, incidentally come one after the other on the ITV programming. The first season of Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, was filmed mostly at a disused quarry in Co. Durham over the last twelve months. The entire region has expressed excitement over the project, the biggest British television production to date, and its possible impact on the local economy.

Phil, who is playing a Bregan councillor in Beowulf episodes 8 and 10,11 says the experience on set, especially doing scenes alongside names like Ace Bhatti  (Eastenders) , Lee Boardman (Coronation Street), and  Elliot Cowan (Sinbad,) was amazing.

The Zimbabwean actor also appeared on same night as Caroline Lancq's solicitor (Affinity, Bolse Vita) on another ITV production Vera watched by 6 million viewers, starring Brenda Blethyn OBE. In a scene where illegal immigrants are uncovered, another Zimbabwean, Busani Ncube, can be seen.

On his blog on filmmaking, Zimbabwean writer, Masimba Musodza notes:
"Zimbabweans too have begun to enter the British film and TV industry. The North-East of England is one part of the country that is not widely associated with Zimbabweans. Black Ethnic Minority BME groups are very small in this region of the UK. This makes the achievements of Zimbabweans in various fields and enterprises, in proportion to our presence here, all the more remarkable.  The emerging film industry is one way in which Zimbabweans can contribute to the economy of the region (the North East). They do not necessarily have to be actors or producers and directors. There are so many other skills, such as dress-making, carpentry or even catering, which form an essential part of a growing industry. What is needed is greater awareness of how more Zimbabweans can get involved in film-making."

Phil Noble has come back from Game of Thrones auditions in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he hopes to play a villain in the show. A product of Cont Mhlanga's Happy Valley Film Project, Phil's British credits include Dumping Ground, Bliss, Wolfblood, Ken Loach's new film, I, Daniel Blake and adverts for B & Q, Virgin Media and Argos.

Asked how he juggles being a Graphic designer, Writer, Businessman, Charity Community projects and acting, Phil attributes this to being single for more than four years and enjoying all the time in his hands to pursue all his dreams while he still can.
